Dielectric Hardening Method of Sandmixes Containing Hydrated Sodium Silicate

Wroclaw University of Technology, Wroclav, Poland The subjec t-matter of the paper c overs a v ery topical problem of possible r estriction of shor tcomings like poor knocking-out properties of castings and hard reclaimability of this type sandmixes by proper selecting their components and using innovative microwave heating. It was proved that the sandmixes subject to quick dielectric process of dr ying/hardening show signifi cantly lower residual strength, which g ives this method priorit y over traditional energy-consuming processes of casting core manufacture.
